A little backstory on this: Back in 1997, I became an assistant director on the Simpsons, my first episode being 'Simpsons Bible Stories'...haha, I know
One of the last scenes was the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse riding on a cloud, red skies and ghoulish laughing.
The scene only lasts a few seconds, but took me over two weeks to animate....I had to 2d animate horses running in perspective, as well as these guys on the horses!
So I'd always wanted to do a recreation on the scene, in a much darker and grittier style. And so almost ten years after animating them, I was confident enough to create them in my new 'non-Simpsons' painting style

Done in Corel Painter and Photoshop.
